Pharr is a city located in Hidalgo County, Texas, and is connected to the Mexican city of Reynosa by a bridge that runs across the Rio Grande. In 1767, the Spanish government gave Juan José Hinojosa. Then Kelley formed the Pharr Townsite Company and had the land platted for a townsite. Of course, Kelley only saw it fitting to name the town after his good friend and business partner, Henry Pharr.
